The Justice Center’s Call Center Director, Jody Signoracci, recently received the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Patriot Award after she was nominated by U.S. Air Force Reserves Master Sergeant and Call Center Vulnerable Persons Protection Specialist Lauren Scunziano.

The ESGR, which is a U.S. Department of Defense program, issues the Patriot Award to a reservist’s supervisor in their full-time civilian occupation, in recognition of the supervisor’s support for their citizen warrior employees.  Such support can include flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, and granting leaves of absence if needed.

The ESGR was created in 1972 to foster a greater understanding between employers and an employee’s military commitment. The ESGR has offices in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and U.S. territories.

Signoracci is the Director of the Justice Center’s Call Center, which is a toll-free hotline that receives reports of allegations of abuse, neglect and significant incidents involving a person with special needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week.  Trained personnel, including Scunziano, receive calls from anyone who is a witness or suspects that a person with special needs has been abused and neglected.
