The Justice Center’s Vulnerable Persons’ Central Register (VPCR) operates a centralized, statewide toll-free hotline and incident reporting system that receives and tracks allegations of abuse, neglect, and significant incidents 24 hours a day, 7-days a week.  Reports are made by service providers and others who are “mandated reporters” as well as by any individual who witnesses or suspects that a person with special needs has been the victim of abuse or neglect, or is involved in a significant incident.

The VPCR also operates the Justice Center’s Information Line for callers who dial NYS Justice Center main lines 518-549-0200 and1-800-624-4143 during the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm. Agents promptly assess the nature of the call, provide general information, direction to our website, or a referral to the approved business unit contact.
